How does sex work with AFK Dolls at Shush?

1. Come to the Shush region.
2. Find an AFK Doll that you like.
3. Check for compatibilities (their profile may have info., their house may have a clickable ad board above the door or on the railing, etc.).
4. If you like what you see, you're ready...
5. Tip the AFK Doll's board to pay for the time you will spend with them, beforehand.
6. Touch the bear on top of their head (or sometimes, the immersive invisible prim on their head) to select where to move them with the dialog menu that will pop up.
7. Sit on the object you place them at.
8. Select the animations.
9. Strip down (or not, your prerogative).
10. Enjoy yourself!

What happens if I run out of time?

• Simply pay the AFK Doll's tip board to add more time so you aren't booted off in the middle of something.

How much does time typically cost?

• It depends on the AFK Doll you like, however, the ones with more private houses are usually L$100 per 15 minutes.
• Be sure to check the Shush region or inworld Shush group for special rates, contests, etc.

What is the difference between an AFK Doll and an Escort?

"But I want a real person behind my Doll..."

• ...Please don't be rude, we are real!  It takes a human being to make a Second Life account and avatar!
• You may do homework on personality/compatibility traits, as mentioned, previously.

"...I mean, I want someone to interact with me and not be AFK..."

• All Dolls are encouraged to respond to tips when they are no longer AFK.
• Typically, an AFK Doll will not talk to you unless you talk to them first... 
• You can try to set something else up with the AFK Doll, ahead of time, but it's up to their discretion/availability.  
• Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, upfront.  Don't waste time with one-word liners like, "Hello," only to then TP away.  That can go back and forth for days, be very frustrating, and get you absolutely nowhere.
• ...Other than that, you are looking for an Escort, not an AFK Doll...
• Try the Escort Oasis region, as Escorts are found there, while AFK Dolls are found at the Shush region (both regions are run by Jenwen Walpole).

Why an AFK Doll and not an Escort, then?

• Do whatever you like, no judgment (pay a flat fee for time, not per task).
• Everything you need is at the Shush region (AFK Dolls, animated furniture, etc.).

Alpha Glitch, NO MORE!

Hello, all!

I just wanted to take the time to share something very important that I recently learned about fixing alpha glitches ...which wasn't quite so obvious to me!  :)

First, let's back up just a bit...

I briefly touch on what an alpha glitch is (showing the difference between alpha masking and alpha blending) in ---> this post.

And yes, I am very stubborn about my looks.  I mean, if I'm going to invest a ridiculous amount of time in defining myself, I don't want to necessarily have to reinvent the wheel all over again in a couple months or so (believe it or not, I do have other shit to do in SL)!  xD  

...That being said... I have long hair, period!  \m/

Thus, for the vast majority of time, I would definitely avoid buying outfits that would alpha glitch with my gorgeous lengthy mane ... As it seemed too much of a waste of energy to keep complaining to asking Creators to use alpha masking instead of alpha blending!

(It's important to note that both flexi and mesh hair have alpha transparencies, so this issue will need to be dealt with eventually, in one way or another.)

--BUT!--

Now let me show you how this indeed works...!

Okay, so here I am in my awesome skybox, unpacking treasures from the weekly sales ...and this is one of my very lovely guilty pleasures, "-siss boom-ornate top maitreya" from Lestat Reuven...

Watch what happens with this top and my hair, when I spin the camera around...

See how my hair cuts thru the shirt?

This example, in particular, isn't a HUGE deal because, believe me, I've experienced MUCH worse (we could be dealing with hair over breasts and the alpha glitch unexpectedly showing nipples! --which could also be fixed by utilizing BoM, but we'll stick to the remedy I just discovered, for now).  ...If the object of SL is to look as realistic as possible, even a tiny little thing like this is bound to drive some of us absolutely bonkers!  xD

So let's take a look at what attachment point my hair has been added to...

On the far right of my inventory, it says my hair is worn on my Skull.

Skull is priority 2 on the priority list, which seems great!  

So now, let's check the attachment point of my shirt...

On the far right of my inventory, it says my shirt is worn on my Chest.

Chest is priority 1 on the priority list... 

Now, as pointed out to me by my dear friend, DD, this is theoretically also a great attachment point... Because if you were to, say, for instance, wear a shirt attached to your Right Hand at a crowded club... it would likely take forever for it to render to others in the correct spot on your avatar (meanwhile, you'd be giving everyone a free show if you didn't BoM or alpha out your nipples and such)!  xD

Now, both my hair and the shirt are:

• No mod (which means I cannot edit them, other than possibly moving them on my avatar...)
• Rigged mesh (which means I cannot move them on my avatar to inspect root prims for transparency)

And when I try to rez my hair, it gives me this message in nearby chat, "Hair Tami Bento FITTED breast size 1: 

You are not allowed to rezz this object, please wear only!"

--So!--

My next recourse is to try:

• Detaching the shirt
• Right-clicking it from inventory
• Selecting "Attach To"
• And picking a different spot (other than Chest)

Keeping in mind what DD explained to me + the priority list, I think I will try Spine  :)

I will even jump off my posing stand, walk around a bit, and relog to see if the alpha glitch is truly fixed by this method...

...And, well!  As you can see... It looks like that was successful!

You can now detach your fixed wearable, and next time you Add it from inventory, it will automatically remember its new selected attachment point!

...Never, never Wear anything from inventory, always select Add...  Because more often than not, when you Wear instead of Add, if your avatar has something else on that same attachment point, it might be detached (some other fun SL glitch)!  xD

But now you have the freedom to buy anything you love by, most importantly, NOT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT ALPHA GLITCHING ANYFUCKINGMORE!!!  :D  \m/

Bite-Sized Blender Classes Now Offered @ Builder's Brewery!

Hello, all!

As a long-time group member of Builder's Brewery, I just happened to see an interesting notice this past week about bite-sized Blender classes now being offered for free!  Making mesh is pretty much the bread and butter of any designer who wants to create the most desirable things in SL (and, of course, it's super cool that you can now utilize mesh locally).  ...So, of course, I had to check it out, and I can say now that I think you should too!  :D  

As you may know, I had been trying for a long time to be a part of the Blender Benders classes, but have always seemed to find it way too overwhelming and inconvenient (despite those teachers being uber nice by offering to somewhat work with me on a reasonable, individual basis, and allowing me to make up classes).  See, their classes start during the holidays, and not only do I work retail, but that's usually the time I have to fill out a massive recertification packet... Blech.  I have tried taking the very first class a few times now, and cannot think of anything to do with Suzanne, other than smashing her into bits and pieces, LOL!  ...So I thought to myself, "Why not try the Builder's Brewery classes, and then once that's set, if I still want, I can go back to Blender Benders?"  \m/

I don't have any regrets!  The Builder's Brewery 1st class is EXTREMELY easy.  Everyone is literally just figuring out how to maneuver their creations inside the Viewport and learning the terminology.  That's it!  It's about an hour and 1/2.  And you learn the correct way to upload your very first Blender cube!  ...Easy-peasy!

When you go to the Builder's Brewery landing point, make sure to join their group and touch their sign about Bite-Sized Blender classes, so you can get a very informative folder with some information that may look very much like mine...

Blender is a powerful package with a big learning curve. At Builder's Brewery, we offer classes at several different levels for anyone who wants to learn to use Blender for their own creations.

Level 2:

201: Settings and preferences in Blender (one lesson)

202: Model a curved vase (two lessons)

203: Unwrap and add lighting (one lesson)

204: Add a texture and bake to prepare for upload to SL (one lesson)

205: Upload your model to SL and set its Levels of Detail (one lesson)

After completing all units, you receive the Builder's Brewery Blender Level Two Certificate of Achievement

Level 3:

301: Make a patio table with metal legs and a marble top (eight lessons)

After completing 301, you receive the Builder's Brewery Blender Level Three Certificate of Achievement

A. INSTALL BLENDER ON YOUR HOME COMPUTER

    2. If you're running Windows 10 or 11, get the INSTALLER version (it's an .msi file), not the Portable (.zip). 

        Mac users are ok to download from the main download page.

    3. When the download is complete, use it to install Blender.

You can take any unit whenever it is being taught, but you should not take a unit unless you have already taken the necessary preceding units.

Some Well Deserved SL Feedback

Fuck your mesh hair that's plastered on.  Flexi looks more realistic, thank you.  I don't know what the fuck you all are thinking, with mesh hair being superior, but you all are high as fuck!

...Same goes for mesh clothing.  WTF?  Clothes aren't plastered on our bodies in RL!  If the purpose of looking better in SL is to look more realistic, WTF are you doing in mesh clothing and mesh hair?  For men, I can kind of understand, but flexi needs to be incorporated into mesh dresses, to say the least.  And forget mesh clothing if you're still a classic avatar and trying to be unique, OMG.

Now, I'll agree with you that the mesh bodies look better.  I love how the Maitreya Lara gives me that body shape I have in RL.

And Catwa doesn't do too bad a job with the Bento Lilly head.  ...Although, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that a few additions (like body jewelry) can only be applied to specific heads, that deductively have been around longer.  That probably would have influenced my decision in the original purchase, but overall, I'm happy with the shape and look of Lilly, honestly.

Not all mesh clothing is completely fucked up.  I like FitMesh.  That stretches well, to a point, on the mesh body.  Thank goodness the creators of the mesh body had the foresight to put in a detailed alpha section in the HUD, otherwise, when I sit down, my ass pokes through a lot of mesh clothing, OMG, embarrassing.

And Developer Kits!  Thank gawd creators allowed these things to the public!  I was able to give myself a widow's peak, apply my old skin (adding old tattoos), and make my own clothing.  Thank gawd.  Praise be to you, creators of Maitreya and Catwa, you are the rulers of SL!

BTW, fuck you, if you don't like my facelight.  I fucking love it.  I get it, I "don't need it," "it's outdated," I know the skin I made doesn't need it because my nose looks fine and Catwa makes a great head... but... try to see it from my POV... How poetically ironic and artistic to have a dark creature be a source of light with her essence?  ...Besides, what if I like being in the spotlight, like the star of my own show?  Hmm, imagine playing SL and having the gumption to think such.  So yeah, you know what?  Fuck you for not taking control of your own SL enough to go to Advanced>Show Debug Settings>RenderAttachedLights>FALSE.  It's not that hard.

Also, this complexity thing... WTF?  LL created a bunch of assholes with this.  Seriously.  I thought SL was about being whoever you wanted to be, as unique and as artistically poetic as you are ...you individual snowflake, you.  My perfect typer that has a bunch of bats, flames, and sparkles -alone, adds 100k complexity to me!  *huge fucking sad face*  My friend's wedding ring adds 100k to her as well.  So, we don't get to be who we are, because we have to worry about whether someone else is going to see us or not.

Now... typically, I do not give a fuck, because I'm in this platform for me, really... but, if I'm doing something important (like helping at a newcomer-friendly place, for example), everyone important criticises me about my complexity.  As if SL wasn't snobby enough already?  Everyone's jumping off the cliff, you should too.  ...Tell me how in the hell I am supposed to have wings, a tail, jewelry, clothing, and hair, that won't be over 100k?  Even with the "fuck-you-I-give-in" mesh hair.  If it's really that important, complexity values should be added to MP listings, just like prims.  Simple as that.

Yeah, I noticed you called me a "lag hag," but the skin on your neck from your mesh body doesn't blend well... so... uhm... go fuck yourself, you retard snob hypocrite!  :D  SL is a 15-year-old pioneered virtual reality platform, that devotes more money to its next generation of Sansar, than its original design (because all we get is more "crowd control" guidance than upgrades).  Hmm.  Yup.  ...Although the one good thing that's LL has allowed is 3rd party viewers like Firestorm.  :)

The only thing complexity is good for, is jelly-dolling everyone in a high traffic area, so my laptop can barely function in peace and I might be able to get shit done.  I'm pretty sure everyone feels pretty much the same here.  ...And then I wonder what the point of meeting ppl in high traffic areas is... and then I contemplate the point of SL whatsoever...

Oh, don't worry, I still have a long career of dumping thousands of dollars into what I do best.  I'm sure many others will continue to follow suit as well.  The fact that I care to so vehemently express my views, just goes to show you how much I am... still in this.  But I just thought I'd point out a few stupid things I have noticed, because I'm just dumbfounded into a complete WTF moment here.  Who the hell are these "ordained people" to tell me how I should look, when they don't even know how the fuck to enjoy the platform, other than advocating criticising others?

Speaking of the economy... I get the purpose of having teleport routing set to landing point only.  Makes ppl look harder for the crap they came there for, to begin with, so they get lost and end up buying a bunch of other shit they didn't see/need the first fucking million times that have been there in the past... Believe me, I get that strategy.  It works.  ...But if your place is laggy as fuck because you're so goddamned popular... and you don't at least put out a TP poster or something to ALL essential areas of your shop: you are a motherfucking cunt.  ...Are you also selling IBM?  Because if my computer takes a shit at your place, guess what?  You ain't gettin' my L$... and I bet that's the case for a lot of ppl who use SL.  Believe me.  The ones with the badass gaming systems are all playing WOW or some other BS ...not worrying about whether or not they can get to the badass goodies that you so meanly neglected to put on the MP!  :p

Next topic on places and economy... "Human only" places.  You guys are *SO* full of hoity-toity bullshit and the most racist and discriminatory motherfucking cocksucking nazis in the entire grid.  ...Really?  You want a boring, conformist place where only humans can spend their L$ at? - On a platform that encourages creativity (which the motherfucking economy depends on)... and was made in order to allow anyone to be whoever they want so they could escape their first life?  Gee, that makes SO much sense, we should then deductively conclude that Otherkin are poor as fuck in SL.  :p  ...So lemmie get this straight: you want to force ppl to be who they are NOT in SL?  *SMH*  I gotta tell you... as a succubus being denied access to an adult place... uhm... you guys just defined the financial code of un-ethics.  Good job.  Think about that for a minute.  While you are pulling your head outta your ass, I will make sure to double my tips to the next place that isn't as socially and financially retarded as you, and pass the good word on to everyone I know about how you really feel.  I'm sure all the n00bs have lots of L$ to give ya instead anyway.  :D  And BTW, that was just an example of what happens, and only the tip of the iceberg.  All you human only places are just living in your own bubble of perfection ...a real recipe for disaster.  Equality and fair treatment is for everyone: end of story.  Welcome to 2019!
