Bite-Sized Blender Classes Now Offered @ Builder's Brewery!

Builder's Brewery
Hello, all!

As a long-time group member of Builder's Brewery, I just happened to see an interesting notice this past week about bite-sized Blender classes now being offered for free!  Making mesh is pretty much the bread and butter of any designer who wants to create the most desirable things in SL (and, of course, it's super cool that you can now utilize mesh locally).  ...So, of course, I had to check it out, and I can say now that I think you should too!  :D

Blender Benders

As you may know, I had been trying for a long time to be a part of the Blender Benders classes, but have always seemed to find it way too overwhelming and inconvenient (despite those teachers being uber nice by offering to somewhat work with me on a reasonable, individual basis, and allowing me to make up classes).  See, their classes start during the holidays, and not only do I work retail, but that's usually the time I have to fill out a massive recertification packet... Blech.  I have tried taking the very first class a few times now, and cannot think of anything to do with Suzanne, other than smashing her into bits and pieces, LOL!  ...So I thought to myself, "Why not try the Builder's Brewery classes, and then once that's set, if I still want, I can go back to Blender Benders?"  \m/

Blender
I don't have any regrets!  The Builder's Brewery 1st class is EXTREMELY easy.  Everyone is literally just figuring out how to maneuver their creations inside the Viewport and learning the terminology.  That's it!  It's about an hour and 1/2.  And you learn the correct way to upload your very first Blender cube!  ...Easy-peasy!

When you go to the Builder's Brewery landing point, make sure to join their group and touch their sign about Bite-Sized Blender classes, so you can get a very informative folder with some information that may look very much like mine...

This first NC is put together by Forth Shepherd and is called "Bite-sized Blender: Frequently-Asked Questions"

~~~~~~~~~~~       BITE-SIZED BLENDER FAQs     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The new series of BITE-SIZED BLENDER classes will begin at the Builder's Brewery in January 2023.
Read on to learn more about them.
1. WHAT IS BLENDER?
Blender is the software commonly used to create mesh objects for use in Second Life. It is available for download free of charge at https://www.blender.org/download.
Blender is a powerful package with a big learning curve. At Builder's Brewery, we offer classes at several different levels for anyone who wants to learn to use Blender for their own creations.
Bite-sized Blender is a new set of lessons at Builder's Brewery, suitable for anyone who has never used Blender before.
We have divided these Beginners' lessons into several small independent units, which you can take at any time.
There are units at three levels.
102: Add lighting to a model (two lessons)
After completing both units, you receive the Builder's Brewery Blender Level One Certificate of Achievement
205: Upload your model to SL and set its Levels of Detail (one lesson)
After completing all units, you receive the Builder's Brewery Blender Level Two Certificate of Achievement
Level 3:
4. WHAT DO I NEED BEFORE I CAN START BITE-SIZED BLENDER LESSONS?
Before starting these lessons, you should do two things.
A. INSTALL BLENDER ON YOUR HOME COMPUTER
    1. Open your browser to download the file via this link...
    2. If you're running Windows 10 or 11, get the INSTALLER version (it's an .msi file), not the Portable (.zip).
        Mac users are ok to download from the main download page.
    3. When the download is complete, use it to install Blender.
        Open Blender and check that you see the splash screen, like this
(This link shows the splash screen for Blender version 3.3.1. If you are using a different version, it will look a bit different.)
B.  GET PERMISSION TO UPLOAD MESH OBJECTS TO SECOND LIFE
    1. Check your account on the SL website (go to Account -> Mesh Upload Status).
    2. Follow the steps as shown, until you see this on your Mesh Upload Status...
5. DO I NEED TO TAKE THE UNITS IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER?
You can take any unit whenever it is being taught, but you should not take a unit unless you have already taken the necessary preceding units.
This diagram shows the sequencing of units which you should follow.
Meh
Meh
Yeah...  I haven't written here in a while.  That FF entry took a lot out of me.  I assure you, I'm still alive, tho ...in both worlds.  :ppp
I do think the no more Gacha thing is absolutely fucking stupid  ...Thank you, BlizzardPepsi, NWO, and scamdemic...
Yeah, I do also think the pandemic is extremely fucking lame, and I'm *SO* over it.
Been fishing ...a lot.  I regret my 2-year hiatus.  When I get rank 40 back, I'll calm down.  ;)  But everyone is at home now, and the competition is horrifically brutal (yeah, even for a working disabled essential worker, which, ugh ...that's another topic of bureaucratic hate that's too RL for right meow).
Been Fishing A Lot
The Stay At Home Club left long ago.
Been doing weekly sales a lot (Sunday Sale Sunday, L$35 Sunday, L$25 Tuesday, Fifty5 Thursday, Fly Buy Fridays, My L$60 Secret, Steals & Deals, Super Sales Weekend, L$30 Saturday, L$55 Saturdays, & my new personal favorite: The Saturday Sale).  Not really much to bitch or be too overzealously passionate about, there (other than the obvious).
...Guess I just don't fucking care about much else right now!  xD
Oh... I cleaned out my inventory's LM folder!  All that's left now is the Objects and Scripts folders.  But then my inventory still increases in size because of all the weekly sales!  :p  xD  Oh, well, c'est la vie.  I'm the one who wanted to upgrade my wardrobe to be an escort ...but now I'm just addicted to the fashion I'll never wear in RL (plus they said BoM isn't cool, when it SO fucking is)!  And, yeah IDK ...fuck everyone and everything... I'd rather just <º))))><.·´¯`·. .·´¯`·.><((((º>  \m/
Survived being forced to upgrade to the FS EEP viewer (as the last non-EEP version was being blocked).  It's not so bad having to move the store skybox stuff above 612m (I mean, fuck Faery Crossing's Nazi covenant nostalgia) for the different  ̶W̶L̶EEP Settings now.  It's very easy to invoke a landing point to save oneself from all the bullshit of updating their stuff on MP, group, website, business cards, and whatnot.  AND, I even made a freebie (that seems to be selling like hot cakes)!  Like, my gawd, somebody PLEASE leave a nice review, FFS, already ...THANK YOU!!!  ...Because I noticed a lot of lands just don't really seem to know how to use EEP... which is sad, but there ya go.  Alternatively, tho, there are now some lands that are of FF caliber because of their EEP Settings ...which is way cool!
LL ran out of landAlthough, it looks like land is back on the market now.  Perhaps Premium Plus will be back underway soon, too.  *coughs and shrugs*
The LL Fart
Oh yeah, and another thing that I fondly refer to as, "the LL fart," is this thing where LL did their "Uplift" project and moved to Amazon's "Cloud" servers (hence my veracious term for it  xD).  I mean, it's totally awesome...  In the beginning, TPs failed, and even now, large group chats still relentlessly drop out of nowhere (especially around Tuesday/reset day).  And I simply l♥ve how Premium Chat tried to blame the FS viewer for these problems, LMAO!  "We don't fucking know what the issue is, go busy yourself with chasing FS group chat/mods/devs for a while, while we figure out how to professionally admit that this is *SO* fucked, or HOW to even fix it!"  ...Thank you, to the cool Premium Chat Lindens who actually started having the chat servers reset, after a month or so of everyone bitching *:-.,_,.-:*'´ `*.¸.*´`'*:-.,_,.-:*💩
It should be known that some things do help for large group chat drops.  You can close the group chat, then add the group chat's tag, then reopen, and I've seen some ppl test by typing a character like a period or something into the group chat.  If group chat still fails, you also have this option in your viewer ---> at the top click Advanced>Clear Group Cache.
...Didn't care about SL18B.  Sorry, maybe you did.  *shrug*  I still have boxed up freebies from SL16B (that I never even did a blog entry on, like I thought I would).  :p
Need to catch up on Lab Gab.  Don't particularly care that much, since it doesn't seem to be a weekly thing anymore.
Aetherial Wrap-Up
Do need to make some more Picks for places I do like, tho (and sadly, some places need to be moved to the "Gone, But Not Forgotten" spot) ...Might do those posts next, shortly after this entry.  :)
Was also thinking about enrolling in the Blender class.  I mean, I've been waiting over a year to do that again because too much RL bullshit happened when Graham Dartmouth was still around to teach it.  *sigh*
Still going to church.  ...I know, I know.  But I'm not a hypocrite, despite whatever superficial bullshit you want to superimpose onto me.  I'm more of a complicated, poetic, oxymoron conundrum that will always keep you guessing and therefore interested ...See, it is written that even Lilith became the consort of God.  And the simple fact is, that sometimes it's very comforting to link to a sort of extended family from all over the globe, that's like-mindedly innocent and pure of heart.  ...They don't care one iota about me being a dark fairy or succubus, they're just glad I'm there.
Often, when I'm down, I do enjoy Lady Queen's song, & you may too.  ♥
...IDK...
How are you doing, internet?
...I think it's phenomenally great that you're all still alive!  ;)
