The LGH Kingdom of DGAF (Don't Give A Fish)

Elanna Althouse took over Wili Clip's "newspaper" job after I left and I guess Sophina Starchild stuck her fingers into bigger pies... While Elanna wanted to write a piece for Wili on every Linden Gold Hunt kingdom...

Although our kingdom members are all equals, for the game's sake, my husband, Samael, is the "king" of DGAF (Don't Give A Fish).  Oddly enough, he doesn't like SL (and needless to say, he doesn't even fish or hunt anymore for LGH).  I did convince him to get the Deluxe rod on the quest once, and he still has it ...But since one of the many previous LGH server hacks, he has absolutely no desire to pick it back up.  He also thinks "there's no point to SL because there are just about a billion other games that have WAY nicer graphics - that don't tax your computer, don't cost nearly as much money to play, and have WAY less drama and bullshit," LOL!  He's adamant that if I were to ever go play WoW (or practically anything else), I'd be idolized because I'm actually female, LOL!  ...However, I believe he still comes into SL for my sake, as I tenaciously refuse to give up something I'm addicted to, and as a gamer himself, he more than respects that.  He will also pay for things and let me take the credit, he will make potions when we need them (if he can, or he just runs errands and buys them for us), and he will also step in to resolve matters (not just for me, but for the ppl I care about).  ...You could call that leadership or love, depending on your perspective.

• We want to be a bit more personal with everyone:
• Wouldn't you feel more motivated if you got ALL your questions answered personally, straight from the horse's mouth, rather than getting it from ...a website?
• If we're all on the same page, goals can be achieved much better.  In business and sales, they teach you that a personal approach and relating to the potential customer is way more successful... why the fuck wouldn't it be for a kingdom as well?
• And on an even more personal note ...Although I respect Wili as the creator of my favorite game... I can't say that I agree with him on ALL his decisions.  In fact, based on my personal experience with the matter: fuck his newspapers.  And although I also think I respect Elanna (from the little interaction we've had and the information I've received), I'd much rather have the Google clicks on my blog, TYVM ...I mean, makes sense, right?  Our kingdom, our land (so far, anyway)... and so... my blog.  *shrugs*  ...Oh yeah, and fuck Wili's newspapers!  xD  \m/

• How does the Kingdom of DGAF (Don't Give A Fish) embrace its laid-back, carefree philosophy for its members?
• Weighing the triage of real problems versus first world problems.
•  Being grateful.  You need to eat protein and ruffage to live.  You don't need gravy ...But gravy is always nice to have!
• If you aren't nagging ppl all the time and aren't up their ass constantly, they're more willing to open up to you and work with you on common goals.  This is called trust and respect.  And, ye gawds, I think SL could certainly use more of it!
• Encouragement, encouragement, encouragement... Positive thinking... and anything else anyone wants to share with the rest of the class.  We're open to discussion with all ... or not.  We DGAF.  Just be happy and don't stress!

• What inspired you to establish the Kingdom of DGAF, and how has it evolved since its inception?
• Samael saw how unhappy I was in RL, having been used and backstabbed as a long-time co-leader of Queen's new Potheads, and so he thought he'd lead me into another door of opportunity by his "stop giving a fuck" idea of a kingdom.
• Samael got some of his idea from my old bulk potion maker.
• We didn't expect to get any members.  I was okay with being the only active member in the kingdom.  But the old bulk potion maker stepped in to teach us some things.  To my surprise, some also saw how I helped run the reincarnated Potheads and followed me to DGAF ... Just like most of them followed Adena to Nutty Bunch, previously.  Plus, we have picked up random awesomes along this yellow brick road too.
• So far we have done very well.  All of our active members are at the top of every stats list and, to date, we have the largest treasury in all the kingdoms ...So... we must be doing something right.  :p

• Can you discuss the absence of group politics and the unique approach to communication within your kingdom?
• Politics ...If she's a witch, she floats.  If she drowned, she was innocent... Who the fuck needs all that high school popularity prom queen and king + class president, absolute drama bullshit?  Did anyone else pay attention in high school and actually read George Orwell?  ...No?  Oh, well.  I'll be over here with everybody else, not giving one fucking fish!
• Why not take risks and think outside the box?
• Real leaders lead by example.  And real leaders don't influence or motivate others, it's actually quite the opposite, in that others influence and motivate the leaders. 
• IMs are on a desireable basis, they're not forced.  Sometimes the shit that goes on in groups feels really obligatory, and then ppl lose interest for various reasons ...Fuck all that.
• We just... Don't give a fuck about any of that unless our kingdom members do.  For example, I stopped giving a fuck about RPG jobs, but one of our members explained that they really wanted it... so we tried it... aren't sorry... and are grateful for any ideas from anyone who also DGAF.

• How do the members of the Kingdom of DGAF support one another, without any formal group structure?
• How does anyone with a formal group support one another?  Is everyone really engaged all the time, or is it just a bunch of ultimatums and bullshit?
• Direct IMs make it easy to tell what actually matters.
• We value integrity  ...We just DGAF if anyone else doesn't have it, and we'll keep on showing them how it's done. 

• How do you ensure that the kingdom's tax earnings are channeled back into LGH for the benefit of all?
• Take care of the kingdom, and the kingdom takes care of itself.
• An alliance here and there may help *cough-coughs about Royal Fishdom + Nutty Bunch, Shark Isle + Unity, and Potheads + ...*  ...yeah, IDK.  Those SL Amazons and Wal-Marts sure are taking care of the LGH economy, aren't they?  And they seem to get stupid jealous when the little mom and pop shops not only survive the pandemic but thrive.  ...Hmm.  Makes you think.

• How do you recruit new members and maintain the relaxed, chill atmosphere of the Kingdom of DGAF?
• Usually someone will ask one of us about it.  We don't push it onto anyone.  The right ppl will come along when they're ready.  Nobody needs their time wasted.
• Out of respect for our current members, new members are usually discussed with current members, beforehand.
• If a new member joins without having talked with any of us, we will reach out to them and follow thru with previously mentioned points. 
• If they're unresponsive and seem like an alt spy or otherwise disrespectful twat, they're booted.  No qualms.
• As for me, personally, I'll take quality over quantity any day.  But I'm also not judgmental... It's fun to teach someone who really wants to learn and is motivated!  Newbie or oldbie.  ...I can't speak for any of the other members, tho.  They're equals and individuals.  You'd have to ask them, if you can figure out who they are.  ;)

A Majikal Bit on Deciphering the Blockchain

Just how cryptic is cryptocurrency?  

Bill Maher, of HBO political talk show, Real Time with Bill Maher, basically explains that it's bullshit.  It's a bunch of crooks doing a Ponzi scheme to one another (as nobody benefits, because someone else always gets stuck with the problem, until it's passed onto the next guy; much like in a multi-level marketing scheme ... As, incidentally, proven by ---> assholes like this).  Plus it takes a huge toll on the environment.  0.o

In fact, Elon Musk, co-founder, CEO, and largest shareholder of the environmentally friendly Tesla vehicle (and nepo baby billionaire idiot, IMO), "coincidentally" pulled out of crypto (although, it seems COVID was also convenient to blame), shortly after Maher's show aired ... But, a lot does go on in the world of m̶a̶n̶i̶p̶u̶l̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ er, I mean, money and politics.

Devil's advocate, Coffeezilla (Stephen Findeisen), tries to attack Maher's character, by spinning Maher's argument of crypto being a new technology that we don't know everything about yet.  While Maher openly, self-admits this (and includes everyone else in that, as well), Findeisen compares Maher's statement to David Letterman and the introductory stages of the internet, even drawing on Maher's first reactions to Classmates - Facebook  ...It's totally ridiculous and bent to all hell, just like Cambridge Analytica #SorryNotSorry, Findeisen, you're no Kitboga.  :p

Meanwhile, Kartik Gada, an executive and investment banker in the technology sector (with an emphasis on emerging, disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and FinTech), has little to say against Maher in his "Bill Maher Correctly Flags the Logical Flaws Within Cryptocurrency" video.  ...Fun fact, with regard to the environment and this technological stepping-stone possibly becoming the future - we only need 10 cryptocurrencies to operate outside the governments of the world, but now it seems like we have countless (9,500 at the time his video was made, back in January of 2022).

"Cryptocurrencies: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)" clarifies cryptocurrency a bit more by sharing all the perspectives, with both seriousness and humor, while advocating the main theme of caution (like, no shit, this includes a cameo from Bitconnect) ... Interesting that the Bitcoin conference ironically stopped accepting Bitcoin as payment!  Plus, WTF? - There are more pump-and-dump data companies that can be paid to manipulate things?!  And, yes, you know it's getting out of hand when adding crypto-related keywords helps a product get noticed!  xD

If you want everything explained to you in a crash course, Johnny Harris's "NFTs, Explained" video might be the perfect thing to also watch.  The tag, "Yes, it's hype.  But it could change our world," reiterates the previous video messages about it being a crazy, new technology (based on how we value and validate things psychologically), but it could change the way we do things because of the decentralized record keeping (as in, we can use what we're learning now, to adapt and evolve in shaping the future).

• Meanwhile, actual games were made for playing with NFTs.

If you're still worried, tho, it seems that somewhere in the near future, the gov't will be able to regulate crypto anyway, via the Bank for International Settlements (owned by central banks) ... Which is a fancy way of making you feel safer about it all, so they can tax you  ...Just like when marijuana was federally illegal in the US until individual states started voting on whether or not they should profit off of the weed too.  xD

And, well, there you have it.  Hopefully, it's not so ambiguous anymore, and you can siphon whatever majik you need out of this, to help design your better future.  

As for me, my heart cannot be influenced by such silly, Earthly, and monetary things, because my soul isn't for sale; so there doesn't seem to be much sense in sticking to anything other than good old-fashioned copyrights and plagiarism ...for now.  ;)

Survived being forced to upgrade to the FS EEP viewer (as the last non-EEP version was being blocked).  It's not so bad having to move the store skybox stuff above 612m (I mean, fuck Faery Crossing's Nazi covenant nostalgia) for the different  ̶W̶L̶s  EEP Settings now.  It's very easy to invoke a landing point to save oneself from all the bullshit of updating their stuff on MP, group, website, business cards, and whatnot.  AND, I even made a freebie (that seems to be selling like hot cakes)!  Like, my gawd, somebody PLEASE leave a nice review, FFS, already ...THANK YOU!!!  ...Because I noticed a lot of lands just don't really seem to know how to use EEP... which is sad, but there ya go.  Alternatively, tho, there are now some lands that are of FF caliber because of their EEP Settings ...which is way cool!

LL ran out of land.  Although, it looks like land is back on the market now.  Perhaps Premium Plus will be back underway soon, too.  *coughs and shrugs*

Oh yeah, and another thing that I fondly refer to as, "the LL fart," is this thing where LL did their "Uplift" project and moved to Amazon's "Cloud" servers (hence my veracious term for it  xD).  I mean, it's totally awesome...  In the beginning, TPs failed, and even now, large group chats still relentlessly drop out of nowhere (especially around Tuesday/reset day).  And I simply l♥ve how Premium Chat tried to blame the FS viewer for these problems, LMAO!  "We don't fucking know what the issue is, go busy yourself with chasing FS group chat/mods/devs for a while, while we figure out how to professionally admit that this is *SO* fucked, or HOW to even fix it!"  ...Thank you, to the cool Premium Chat Lindens who actually started having the chat servers reset, after a month or so of everyone bitching *:-.,_,.-:*'´ `*.¸.*´`'*:-.,_,.-:*💩

It should be known that some things do help for large group chat drops.  You can close the group chat, then add the group chat's tag, then reopen, and I've seen some ppl test by typing a character like a period or something into the group chat.  If group chat still fails, you also have this option in your viewer ---> at the top click Advanced>Clear Group Cache.

...Didn't care about SL18B.  Sorry, maybe you did.  *shrug*  I still have boxed up freebies from SL16B (that I never even did a blog entry on, like I thought I would).  :p

Need to catch up on Lab Gab.  Don't particularly care that much, since it doesn't seem to be a weekly thing anymore.
