...Wondering what there is to do for fun this season? -Well, I think you stumbled onto the right spot! ;)
I know you all like parties, contests, hunts, and freebies, so check this out...
Imagine my surprise, after working with the infamous PlantPets breedable all these years, to discover they were doing their first festival for the summer?
...IKR?! What better way to just dive right into happiness and drown out the world drama?! :)
...Alright, alright, n00bs...
"Just WTF are
PlantPets?" you ask?
...Why, only the most awesome breedable in
SL that has been around since 2007! These low-
prim beauties do NOT require extra purchases of food or anything (boosts are optional and occasionally come with their babies), you merely touch them to water them -and your visitors can too! :)
The PlantPets Summer Festival is running from August 1st - 15th, 2020. Visitors will tour displays that use PlantPets in unique ways, via a
HUD. When one checks-in at every display, they will get the new
Special Edition Limited Lilac Bush *Summer Festival* PlantPet that will not be offered after the festival.

Now, before I take you thru the tour, lemmie show you some pix from the
PlantPets Opening Party that helped kicked this festival off!
This Summer Picnic Themed party was supposed to be happening on 31JUN20, from Noon - 2PM SLT 31JUL20 @ Roxy's "
Love Everlasting Home & Garden Store..." But I ended up getting there wAaAaaAyy late (like 10 minutes to 2PM). However, it still went on for at least an hour until I left! ...Yus, PlantPets ppl are a friendly bunch! :) I think I unfortunately completely missed DJ Alva, but I did manage to get myself a PlantPet Seed [Lilac Bush *Old Glory*] from the raffle (plus Bruce kindly gave me the PlantPet Seed [Sunflower *Ring of Fire*] and Roxy shared all her party pix - that I will also share with you too)! :)
...Now, why in the fuck did I get there so late?? It started with me needing to ask Premium chat something very important, and the Java wouldn't send my message, so I knew I needed to clear my browser cache. And when I did, I relentlessly lost my inventory a-fucking-gain + audio this time!!! ...My Toshiba Satellite laptop has been on its last legs for the better half of a decade now. :p I am actually surprised the old trooper still runs!
The good news is that my partner is like, the ULTIMATE gamer. He decided to give me his old gaming system from about 5 years ago! :o ...This all seems Greek to me, but, here's the specs I'm currently running right meow: "Intel i7, 16gig ram, 240SSD C: Drive, and 1TB D:drive /w SLI x2 Nividia GPU Cards, /w 4gig of Vram" (if you can believe that cost $2K "back in the day" and that he actually managed to upgrade from that)!
...I must say, it doesn't seem like SL without any lag, crashing, or aggravation, LMFAO ... but it is certainly, extremely fucking nice to be able to dress however the fuck I want and to be able to render everybody/everything at very nice graphic settings (complexity, *SO* not being an issue anymore)! ...IMO, this is how SL is meant to be experienced!!! \m/
I tried to baby and take care of the laptop (as if it would be the last computer I would ever get) by running several fans on it ...but I did practically leave it running 24/7 because I always wanted to be connected inworld. So, needless to say, I will not be doing that anymore ...Respect, cheers, & fuck off to all of that. Shit will just have to forward to email, and if you don't like it, I dunno what else to tell you other than, "tough shit!" xD ♥
...So here's when I finally managed to come to the party.

I'm so laggy, I still haven't mingled yet, and it took 4 shots to get everyone's hair and textures to rez properly.

PlantPets Facebook Photo Contest, where they're giving away L$6K + seeds in prizes

Once participants got their Festival HUD (either from the PlantPets group or from the inworld sign), they took some pictures of the displays (which also need to include at least one PlantPet), and then posted their image with the hashtag
#PlantPetsSummer2020 + a link to the
PlantPets Official FB Page by the deadline, to have entered. Winners were picked on the 11th and announced on
the Official PlantPets FB page:

...I also tried to play a game with myself, throughout the tour, to see if I could recognize which PlantPets were used in each of the displays...
This personal game of mine came about because the PlantPets team really urged us to take the plants
out of the pots and use them creatively in our displays. ...As for myself, I had already built my display before I really understood what they were encouraging us to do. :p Plus, personally, I really
do enjoy the original pots that they came in, and have for many years now! :)
Now, when you select a PlantPet (not the pot/soil/root prim ...but the plant, itself) in "edit" mode to see what it is, especially when it's been taken out of the pot, you can't exactly get a clear picture as to what
specific breed or color it is. This is likely because the plant will be rezzing in different stages, depending on its growth, and the plant will probably be named after those
stages. But I tried. Sometimes I only knew they were PlantPets because Bruce's or Roxy's name appeared in the edit menu! xD
At least I could tell Monellis was using
Caladiums. One was even called "*Hope*." :)

...Well, I guess you can see in my last 2 pix here what I meant earlier and why I was so thankful for Lynn's pic! PlantPets are on a fascinating temporary rez loop. I was even inspired by my PlantPets to replicate such a thing for my own personal build projects. However, sometimes these temporary prims on timers (rezzing every minute or so from the PlantPet soil) seem to conflict with each other, as I noticed with the very minuscule moments of my temporary missing PlantPets throughout the years. ...I'm not sure what makes the plants conflict with each other. Not enough prims in the land's prim cache? SL timer being off due to lag? Being too close to one another? SL being a typical PITA? ...Or all of the above, LOL! xD

...So this is how I have shit set up. The store is in a skybox, and right below it is the PlantPets display.
I kinda like the aquarium look for displays in skyboxes (in case someone wants to take pix and needs to cam out or whatever the fuck). ;)
This might be what you first see when you come to the display... Make sure to touch this floating picnic basket for some goodies. :)
The door will take you back to the store.
I highly recommend you experience this for yourself, but here's some pix anyway :)
I kept all my PlantPets together, because I didn't trust myself. I feared that if I didn't, I would somehow be scatterbrained enough to forget to water them, and OMG, I love them too much to somehow hurt their feelings simply because I'm a dummy that spreads herself too thin! :p ;)
The arbor, I got as a freebie and it's OLD. I don't remember where from exactly, but it does remind me of
The SL Botanical Gardens (so perhaps they had something to do with it). I rigged some sitting poses to it, so, enjoy! "Lovely," my Climbing
Rose is on the side of it (plus, you will also see "Solsticia" and "Lilly," my
Lily, off to the side, by the huge blue willow, too).
"Shogun" is my
Bonsai. I like the little momma and baby tree thing going on there. :) I miss
Imagine.
I also did a similar daddy and baby tree thing with "Timber," our
Smiling Orchid Tree, next to the willow with a face (that has the door back to the store, on the back of it).
In the kinda artsy "peeking thru the willow leaves" pic, we have a clearer shot of "Lovely" and "Solsticia," my
Poinsettia.
Then we have "Autumn," my
Caladium that I bought on accident, trying to help a fellow breeder I also met on
ASN ...But I haven't regretted it (as I've had a few pink spotted ones in RL). :)

Wondergarden PlantPet, is in the center of my little garden that kinda used to be in front of my Pumpkin house, before I
temporarily downsized Zamargad. I think she's my favorite. ...If you touch the cannabis, you will get some goodies too! ;)
Then there is "Elvira," my other
Climbing Rose. She's special, but so is "Lovely," as they each have different happy particles.
"Midnight Rosey," my
Rose, was my first PlantPet ever. Further along is "<--XOXO--<<" my black
Tulip. And, off to the side + a little easier to see, is "Harmony&Balance," my purple
Moth Orchid. <-- in her pot, I put some witch herbs in there, so that every time I water her, things will restore themselves to normal. It's a cool little thing that the best person from
ASN, ever, told me about when I was feeling down one day. ♥
And I guess that hidden deer is just there to bring a little extra majik and sparkle to this display!
